This series of classes are for ALL your alterations needs! Come along to all the classes or just one, it’s your choice!
We’ll be covering everything you need to know to make your clothes fix perfectly!
Hemming Trousers
Bring along a pair of unlined trousers or jeans to adjust to the perfect length! We’ll also be covering hemming sleeves so you could bring along an unlined non stretch top too!
Taking in clothes
Bring along an unlined dress or top to take in to your perfect fit! This works best with woven fabric clothing that is simple and sleeveless.
Adjusting Waistbands of trousers/skirts
Probably the fiddliest in the series but definitely the most rewarding! This class will show you how to take in a waistband on a skirt or pair of trousers, ring along your favourite pair of trousers that you just wished fitted better! (Please don’t bring jeans to this class!)
What to bring:
- 1-3 items of clothing that need altered
- Basic sewing kit(scissors, pins, chalk etc)
For example you could brin trousers that need hemmed, an unlined dress or top to take in and your favourite pair of trousers that you just wished fitted better! (Please don’t bring jeans to this class they take too long to adjust the waistband!).
Please note lined items are much more complicated and as such we won’t be able to cover them in this class.
This class is for those who have already been to our beginners class or have a few projects under their belt already. We won’t be teaching you how to use the sewing machine in this class but we can do that in our Beginners Sewing classes for you!
Yes you can, we just won't adjust jeans waistbands in this class as it's a bit more advanced than the average alteration. We can however help you with adjust jeans waistbands in a 121 session - just get in touch to organise!
As long as you can use a sewing machine it's ok if you don't have the use of one at home. This class isn't for absolute beginners to sewing though as we don't go through how to thread the machine. If you're an absolute beginner we can get you upto speed on one of our Beginners Sewing Courses.
Yes you can! Bring it along and we can help you tweak it.
